Argentina Hielo Azul glacier near El Bolson, Argentina

On the shores of the glacial lake you have many opportunities to take great pictures. The water is a very special turquoise blue and in my case the surface of the water has formed some fantastic reflections. the lagoon is surrounded by rocky mountains.

Your lens should be as wide -angled as possible. I used 16mm on a full -frame camera and it wasn't enough. That's why I put several portrait pictures together into a panorama.

I visited this place on a multi-day trekking tour near El Bolson. The landscapes are beautiful and there are great hiking trails. You can spend the night in the refuges.
Day 1 Refugio Hielo Azul, day 2 Refugio Natacion, day 3 Refugio Cajon del Azul, day 4 Refugio Tronconado. Especially in the area around Cayon Azul you will have many opportunities to stay overnight in refugios or to camp. There are buses to the starting points of the hikes and you can get detailed information at the tourist information office in El Bolson.

The path to the Hielo Azul glacier was poorly marked, steep and slippery in places. It is not a long route, but you need a lot of time in this difficult terrain.
