Argentina Parque Nacional El Palmar
The El Palmar National Park on the west bank of the Rio Uruguay serves to protect the Yatay palms. They were originally very common in the region between the Rio Uruguay and the Rio Paraná and had to give way to agriculture. The fact that the park is very well visited is perhaps partly due to the fact that there are several short and medium hiking trails. The most important reason is probably the capybaras (Argentinian: carpinchos), which can be observed very well here. They can hardly be ruffled.
