Australia Quindalup Dunes

The Quindalup shifting sand dunes are located in the Nambung National Park (north of Perth in Western Australia), a few kilometers from the famous Pinnacles. They consist of white calcareous sand. Thus they are diiferent from usually yellowish sand dunes. The view of theses white dunes is just stunning, especially where they "eat up" the vegetation. Like snow, the white sand tends to appear grey in photographs if no strong contrast is in the frame.

A gravel road leads to the white dunes off the Indian Ocean Drive. Close to the dunes you can park a vehicle beside the track and walk only a few ten meters to their edge.
