The MacDonnell Ranges stretch hundreds of kilometers to the west and east of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. The parallel mountain ridges of the mountain chain let adumbrate already from afar that they are folded up. The Namatjira Drive runs along the western part of the mountain range.
