The Kitzsteinhorn is a mountain in the municipality of Kaprun in the Austrian state of Salzburg. The Kitzsteinhorn is part of the Glockner group in the Hohe Tauern and reaches a height of 3203 m above sea level. It offers a great ski resort in the winter and is a great place for hiking in the summer.

Photography Tips

I used my DJI Mavic 3 Pro to get a good overview of the mountain top and to feature ridge in one photo. Make sure to register your drone. Otherwise you might not be allowed to fly here.

Travel Information

You could hike up here from the valley, but it will be long and exhausting. Easier is to take one of the many cable cars (Panoramabahn or 3K connection) and park your car at one of the many parking lots. There are also options to sleep up in the Kitzsteinhorn area over night in some huts. This is a great option to experience a sunrise and sunset!
