Austria Salzburger Hütte view, Zell am See-Kaprun

The Salzburger Hut is located on the Kitzsteinhorn at an altitude of 1879 m, in the middle of a wonderful alpine landscape, with wonderful views of the surrounding 3000-meter peaks and the Salzach Valley around Lake Zell.

The hut is small and cozy and offers places to eat and drink in a cozy parlor or on a large sun terrace. They also have overnight accommodation in 2 mattress dormitories for around 20 people.

I took this photo from the 3K station with my telephoto lens to get some good compression of the scenery inclusing the road as a leading line, the hut and the peaks around. Coming here on a moody and rainy day can be very rewarding to get some low clouds!

You have different options to come here. Hiking will definitely take the longest. Or you take a gondola up here if you like to keep your power! You can buy the ticket online or at the ticket counters at the gondola stations.
