The Jufenalm, nestled near the Hochkönig in Maria Alm, is not just a scenic alpine pasture; it also features a captivating game reserve known for its deer population. This idyllic area offers visitors a unique opportunity to observe these majestic animals in their natural habitat while enjoying the stunning backdrop of the Hochkönig mountain range.
You can expect to see various species of deer, including red deer and roe deer. These animals are known for their grace and beauty, making them a delight to observe, especially during the early morning or late afternoon when they are most active.

Photography Tips
Since these animals are used to visitors and hikers nearby, they usually come close when you stop for a photo. Therefore, it is not necessary to bring a big Tele zoom lens. But if can be helpful if the animals are resting in the distance. I mainly used a standard zoom lens to get my photos. Make sure to bring some time with you when coming over.
