Canada Salmon Glacier Route
From the road there are several magnificent views to the glacier on the border of Canada and Alaska (USA).
Travel Information
The only way to get here by road is from Stewart (BC, Canada) via Hyder (Alaska, USA).
Just beyond Stewart you cross the US border to Hyder. A border control at the entrance to Alaska is not provided here, there is no other way than the way back anyway.
A few hundred meters past the bear observation zone at Hyder, the road changes to a heavily dusty gravel road. It is a bit adventurous, with strong climbs and some bottlenecks, over longer stretches along the mountain wall. Almost unnoticed, marked only by a sign, you drive back to British Columbia. A direct road within Canada to the glacier does not exist.
