Canada The Niblet, Northern Viewpoint

The Niblet is one of the three viewpoints along the Ridge north of the Lakes around Mt. Assiniboine. It offers amazing views on its surroundings and the lakes.

Scale can help you showing the massive depths of the landscape. Try to shoot when a bit of light hits the middle ground to boost the shadows.

In order to get to the Mount Assiniboine area, you need to hike (shortest way) for 26km to the campsite. This will cover 700m elevation gain. Otherwise, you can also reserve yourself a spot in a helicopter (225$, as per 2024) to reach this location. From there, you will find many hiking possibilities. The Niblet is a short hike of another 210m elevation and 3km distance from the campground.

To reserve a campsite spot at this location, you need to book way in advance or being lucky of getting a cancelation spot.

Always carry bear spray and be familiar with bear behavior since this is highly dense bear territory.
