Chile Geysers Del Tatio
It is the third geyser site in the world. They are not very tall; less than one meter. They are visited in the morning because it is the moment when the thermal difference allows us to see the steam column better.
This is the highest geyser field in the world at 4,300 m above sea level. The „Geisers El Tatio“ in the high valley of El Tatio are not geysers in the strict sense, like those of Puchuldiza, further north, or the Strokkur in Iceland. Here, several dozen boiling springs bubble and spurt. As they do so, they chase great clouds of steam into the sky. In the cool of the early morning on the altiplano and the dim light, they give a magnificent spectacle. The increasing wind during the morning disperses them.

Photography Tips
It's very cold in the early morning. We have had -16 !! So take care with condensation in the lens.
Travel Information
Parking available. The location is almost 100 km north of San Pedro de Atacama. The road is only decent on a few short sections, otherwise rough. Driving it in the dark is even worse than in the light.
