Chile Above Paso las Llaves
The road along the southern shore of the Lago General Carrera, between Chile Chico and the Carretera Austral, is a particularly beautiful route. It has some rollercoaster passages, because the lake is embedded between towering rock massifs. The colour of South America's second largest lake, Lago General Carrera, varies between cobalt blue and turquoise. In some places on the high shore, the wind blows so hard that you can only take photos with the greatest of effort and for a few minutes.
Travel Information
Except for a few kilometres at the eastern end, the road (Ruta 265) is a gravel road.
