The Pacific island Isla de Chiloé is the second largest island in South America. Wooden shingle architecture is widespread across the island. During missionary work in the wake of the Spanish conquistadors, it was used here in the construction of churches. Today, some of them are listed, some are World Heritage Sites, like this one in Chonchi.
