Chile Salar del Huasco
The Salar del Huasco is considered one of the most beautiful salt lakes in northern Chile. It has only been a national park for a few years: Parque Nacional Salar del Huasco. In fact, it is surrounded by impressive mountains that set the scene, so to speak.
On an earth road, you can drive around the salt lake to about 2/3 with the camper and thus have different views of it again and again.
In at least two places, small streams from the mountains with fresh water flow into the lake. There are small green areas there.
Considering that a salt lake is a very hostile environment, you can observe an astonishing number of different animals in the park. Flamingos and other water birds have their normal habitat here. Nandus, among the flamingos, I did not expect to see here. But neither did vicuñas and many llamas.
