Croatia National Park Telašćica, Mir Salt Lake
This is the salt lake Mir inside the National Park Telašćica on the island Dugi Otok in Croatia. The lake is connected to the ocean and exchanges salt with it. It is one of very few salt lakes in Europe. You can bath there, it is warm and super salty!
Photography Tips
Wide angle lens, polarizer. It might make sense to use long exposures.
Travel Information
There are several ways to get here:
1. You have a car on the island: Go to the marked parking lot. You will have to walk around 4 km to reach the lake.
2. You come by boat. The large bay for anchoring of sailing boats is nearby. You just need to walk 5 minutes.
3. Hiking trip from Sali. You can plan a day-trip from Sali to this spot, crossing the complete National Park. That was my route and you will enjoy it! If you are too exhausted by the 15-20km trip, you can call a very friendly Taxi driver who will pick you up. His number is written on signs at the different parking lots.
