Croatia City view from the western harbor, Split

We were in a bar around the corner, as we had been annoyed by all the tourist traps and looked for something cheaper. At the one or other coffee, we decided to take pictures right here at sunset, as we liked the old town at the harbor with the tower of the Diocletian's Palace in front of the mountains. The picture was taken between two luxury yachts through a somewhat quieter, but still lively harbor section.

The area can be recommended to everybody who does not necessarily want to go to the mass tourism in the city, even if one does not want to take any pictures.

The best time for pictures will be the late sunset/blue hour or at night. Then the water can be softened without filters with longer exposure times and the beautiful lights of the city come out.

We parked very cheaply very close by at the roadside. But as far as we could observe this, the harbor area fills up in the evening, thus it can be helpful to drive earlier to the harbor if one needs a parking place.
