Croatia Modro jezero (Blue Lake)

This is one of the two famous lakes in this area and beautiful phenomena of karst landscape. There is a path leading towards the bottom of the large sinkhole. During summer, the lake sometimes dries up completely. The locals use this opportunity to play football on the dry lakebed. Go figure!

This image was taken during dawn. Not among my favourite shots, this is a very tough subject (at least for me or if you want to show something new). The contrast is very strong most of the time. The sinkhole is rather deep and by the time sun reaches the lake, all the subtlety is gone. You can try a different approach but study the sun position beforehand (TPE or PhotoPills).
