The valley of Viñales is one of the most famous landscapes of Cuba. Situated in the mountains north of the province capital Pinar del Rio, Viñales is a lovely small town which offers a huge variety of possibilities for tourism. The first view of the surrounding valley reaching the area from Pinar is at the viewpoint (mirador) Balcón del Valle near the Hotel Los Jazmines.

Photography Tips

Be prepared for crowds of day visitors between app. 10 a.m. and 17 p.m. Early morning and late afternoon /evening are better for undisturbed photography.

Travel Information

All tour operators on Cuba offer trips to Viñales, even day trips from La Habana. If you would like to explore the region more properly its much better to stay in one of the hotels or - even better - one of the many private guest houses in Viñales.
