Cyprus Macheras - Kionia, Cyprus
This spot is just outside the village of Macheras. The main point of interest is the monastery of the village, which is within a few minutes from this spot.
The spot itself offers a view on the monastery and the village below, but is especially suited for astrophotography, since this is a remote and dark area (Bortle Class 3-4).
!!! Attention: this is a natural area and there are snakes, so watch out a bit!

Photography Tips
Use a telephoto lens to focus on the mountains. From 100mm onwards, the building on top of the mountain will be clearer.
In my picture (Doros Nestorides), I used a longer focal length for the foreground (about 200mm) and a shorter one (about 50mm with slight crop) for the milky way.
Important: the building is one of the highest spots of the island, so it is brightly lit at night. Take your foreground picture during blue hour and blend it with the galaxy in post.
Towards the west there is a nice view of the village of Macheras with the sun setting in the background.
