An excellent spot for view of Eiffel tower
If you want to get wow out of your first view of the Eiffel Tower, Trocadero is a great spot. So many different shots are possible during the day and the evening but the illumination is turned off some time after midnight (about 2:00 I think). Its also a perfect starting point for walking down to be under, or up, the tower.

Travel Information

Easy to access by metro. Trocadéro metro station is about 2 stops from the stop that gets you to the Eiffel Tower.

Thank you so much for sharing the spot! I am not quite sure what the situation is with photographing the tower at night, is it allowed or not? I read somewhere that the entity which manages the tower and the lights on the tower claims that this is artistic work. Pffff... I hope things have changed in France because this is really stunning!

As far as I know, it still is. The lighting is legally protected. In private this shouldn't be a problem, but as soon as you publish a picture of the lighting you need the rights. I don't know if and if so, where you can get them. I don't think Edward owns the rights to the lighting for publishing, but in Germany we would say something like "No plaintiff, no judge.".

Thank you again. Now I wonder whether posting my panoramic blue hour in Berlin with its iconic tv tower is ok but I am not selling anything so I guess I am ok.
