France Galeries Lafayette, Paris
Galeries Lafayette is a must-see for photographers with an affection for Art Nouveau, stained glass dome and very up-market shops. The shop was completed in 1912, so its genuine and well maintained. If you’re looking for something to shoot in Paris on a rainy day, this could be just what you need – and to visit, even the roof-top with its view, is free.
Photography Tips
There is a Starbucks on the 4th floor where you might get a table and seat from where you can rest your camera and take photos across the inner space. If you want to get right into the centre, there is a platform that protrudes into the space. It’s safe and visitors are admitted in small groups but it moves with people’s walking so you need to hand-hold your camera.
As you can see, I shot mainly with an ultra-wide.
