France Saint-Denis d'Oléron Beach

A staircase leads down to the rocky seabed, which more or less dries out at low tide. Different zones are recognisable, from almost vegetation-free scree to fields of seaweed, tide pools and larger bodies of water to the cliff edge with surf and the sea beyond. Being able to walk around in this terrain is as fascinating as the landscape itself with algae, snails and barnacles in it.
