France The Lavender Fields of Saignon
The Little Luberon of Vaucluse has amazing lavender fields; better than the Valensole area and with much fewer tourists. In addition, you are able to use as backgrounds the amazing hillside villages which show nicely in the evenings. Each village is also wonderful to visit and has great cafes in which to enjoy some fine French food.
Photography Tips
I would approach this shot in the evening when the village is front-lit and there is a sidelight on the lavender for the best lighting. Set up the tripod and wait for the best light just before the sun sets.
Travel Information
Approach from the D232 and find easy parking on the side of the road and climb a small slope to the lavender field.
