France The Beautiful Village of Gordes

One of the "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France" Gordes is perched on the side of a hill overlooking the Little Luberon and makes for a dramatic sunrise picture. Well, I wasn't quite so lucky with the sunrise but the spot is the best overlook of the village.

Photography Tips

Arrive early for parking and the sunrise. This village is a very crowded tourist spot so you may not be alone. Use your tripod and a small aperture to get the lights to starburst if you want that effect.

Travel Information

Approach the D15 from the south and park just to the south of the ledge from which this shot is taken. The site will be obvious. There is NO guardrail so don't fall. The turnoff to the Abbey de Senanque is just ahead to the left and would allow two shots in one morning.
