France The Old Stone House in Fields of Lavender
When you plan your trip to Saignon there are three must-have shots; this is the third. After finishing with your sunflower shot, walk 100m west to find this beautiful old stone house to serve as a mid-ground for your lavender fields.
Photography Tips
I took this shot in the morning thinking that the side light would best show the lavender. There are tall trees which create some shade so perhaps an afternoon shot when both the lavender and house are front-lit would be best. You stand at some distance from the house so a telephoto (70mm) works best to compress the scene.
Travel Information
Travel to Saignon in Provence, France and then north on the D174; plenty of parking at the side of the road.
