France Japan Bridge, Paris
It's a very hidden spot in La Defense. I love that it bends and gives you an infinity look! The Japan Bridge (Pont Japonais) is a pedestrian bridge in the La Défense district of Paris, completed in 1994. Designed by Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa, it features a red steel arch inspired by traditional Japanese bridges. The bridge connects the Tour Pacific and Kupka office buildings, spanning the RD 914 highway. Its design includes a suspended glass tunnel for pedestrians, offering protection from the elements. The bridge is known for its blend of Eastern design influences and modern engineering, making it a notable example of contemporary architecture in Paris.
Photography Tips
To photograph the Japan Bridge from the outside, capture it during the golden hour for the best light. Use a wide-angle lens to showcase the arch and the surrounding buildings. Experiment with different angles to emphasize the bridge’s unique design and structure, and try shooting from a lower perspective to make the arch appear more dramatic. Keep an eye on reflections in the glass tunnel for creative shots.
