Germany Elbe Crossing 2, Lühesand
Lühesand is a small island in the river Elbe near Stade, which can only be reached by a small ferryboat. The southern carrying pylons of Elbe Crossing 1 and Elbe Crossing 2 have been located on Lühesand. The one pylon of Elbe Crossing 2, a 380 kV overhead line, is 227 m tall, the tallest pylon in Europe and the sixth tallest of the world. The height of the pylons ensures that large ships are able to reach Hamburg's deep-water port.
