Germany Wilsede, Lüneburg Heath
Wilsede is a tiny settlement going back to the late middle ages. It is situated in the center of the Lüneburg Heath nature reserve and is a good starting point to explore the biggest attractions in the area. Although it isn‘t a museum village it feels like one. Old stables and stair storage buildings with thatched roofs create a unique atmosphere.
Photography Tips
You get the best light around an hour after sunrise or an hour before sunset, when the sun peeks through the forrest surrounding the village. During the day the place can get crowded. When taking pictures keep in mind there are people living there who like their privacy.
Travel Information
Either walk (ar. 1 hour) or rent a bike (15-20 mins) from one of the villages at the border of the nature reserve (Undeloh, Volkwardingen) or stay in Wilsede. The area is car-free.
