Germany Gangolfsberg Basalt Prism Wall
The Gangolfs Mountain (Gangolfsberg) in the core area of the Rhön Biosphere Reserve and the Bavarian Rhön Nature Park is an extraordinarily beautiful mixed beech forest. One of the many marked hiking trails leads through a rubble forest to a scree heap. On its top, basalt columns with a diameter of up to 40 cm lie here like a gigantic pile of wood.
