Germany Pfrunger-Burgweiler-Ried banned forest
The Pfrunger-Burgweiler-Ried banned forest is the largest banned forest in Baden-Württemberg and one of the largest moorlands in Germany. Banned forests are total reserves in Baden-Württemberg in which any use is prohibited.
At the beginning of the hiking trail there is a 38.8 m high observation tower.
In order to minimize disturbances to flora and fauna, there are given routes through the area, including wooden plank paths through the moor to the peat cutting lake.
