Germany Kölner Dom, interior
The nave of Cologne Cathedral, which is around 120 metres long, was built over the course of seven centuries in five construction periods. Nevertheless, it has a strictly uniform, high Gothic form, the original plan of which apparently appeared so perfect that all later master builders were able to adhere to it. All the naves of Cologne Cathedral as the central nave, transept and choir have practically the same dimensions and an identical structure. The height measures 43.35 metres and the width 12.50 metres.
