Germany Staircase Zeche Zollverein
The Ruhr Museum of the City of Essen has been located in the former coal washing plant of the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex since 2009. An orange-lit escalator leads to the museum entrance at a height of 24 meters. The staircase is the longest free-standing escalator in Germany.
Photography Tips
The photo was taken as a long exposure without a filter (1 sec., f/16). Due to the lack of a tripod, I waited for a moment without visitors and placed the camera on the ground in front of the escalator, which explains the low perspective.
