Germany Müngstener Brücke
The Müngsten Bridge, built in 1897, is the highest railway bridge in Germany. It connects the cities of Remscheid and Solingen and crosses the Wupper Valley at a height of 107 meters. The arched bridge was called the Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge until 1918. Its span is 170 meters. The bridge underwent extensive renovations from 2015 to 2018. The (rust) red paint (see my first photos from 2012) has disappeared; the bridge now shines in steel blue.
Travel Information
Parking: Brückenpark Müngstener Brücke. This photo was taken from a high-altitude path along the banks of the Wupper River. At that time, all the trees had been felled, providing a clear view of the bridge.
