Iceland Geyser Strokkur

This hot gusher is one of the most famous spots in Iceland. Every 5-10 minutes the water shoots out to a 15-30 meters high fountain.
The Geysir Center is also worth a visit with lots of details about Strokkur itself and vulcanos and their eruptions. There is also a floor panel which is simulating an earthquake.

Photography Tips

Be careful, when the wind changes. The water isn't hot when it's coming down again but you and your camera can get wet... ;-)
It's also pretty important to shoot at this spot when the sky isn't grey, for example during sunrise or sunset, to have better contrast between the water and the sky. The best time is probably during summer when the sunset is extremely late and there are no tourists left on this spot.

There is a pretty big parking place nearby.

That sky on your third image is just awesome... wanted to add mine I took during the day with a very boring sky, but those are already so good ;-) I just added some more details about the Geysir Center nearby, which was also nice to visit.

I took my picture around midnight and we were lucky that all tourists left already... ;-)
