Iceland Skógafoss Waterfall
Skogafoss is a waterfall situated on the Skoga River in the southern part of Iceland. It stands 60 meters tall and is one of Iceland's largest and most photographed waterfalls, attracting thousands of tourists every year. According to Icelandic folklore, a treasure chest is hidden behind the waterfall and can only be found by a brave traveller who is willing to climb to the top. Skogafoss is also known for its rainbows, often visible when the sun shines on the mist created by the waterfall. You can climb the stairs to the top for a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape or take a walk behind the waterfall for a unique perspective.
Photography Tips
You should visit this spot early morning or late afternoon to avoid too crowded photos. Use also the stairs/path at the right side of the waterfall to go up - you will have also interesting views of the waterfall and the surroundings. I like using a tripod and a grey filter.
