A few hundred meters from the northern end of the Icelandic Highland Route Kaldidalur, the Geitá River has swilled a canal through mighty basalts. Additionally, the whole basalt field was washed blank.

Travel Information

The Kaldidalur is open only in Summer and it is restricted to four-wheel drive vehicles. From the northern end of the route (from Húsafell), it is absolutely safe for all vehicles to drive to this spot.
