Iceland Eldborg Crater
The lava ring Eldborg (Fire Castle) was created by tough flowing lava. Around the outlet lava solidified layer by layer, thus building up this ring. The crater rim partly consists of lose rubble.
Travel Information
A hiking trail leads across a plain winding through lava and low shrubs. At the steep way sections there are steps and chains (to hold on).
