This lake is located in the Icelandic Highlands and can only be reached with a 4x4 rental car. You can drive up to a gravel parking lot from where you can already see the lake. Walk up the hill to your left for better views with your camera or smartphone. I prefer using the drone here!

Photography Tips

You will either have to back up with the drone or take a panorama image to capture the entire lake + mountain and surrounding scenery. Early morning or evening is best for photo conditions.

Travel Information

You have to drive on the F208 which is only allowed by 4x4 cars. Take the small exit and speed up the hill to get to the Parking lot which is just above the lake.
