There are many rooftops in Yazd from where you can get a good view of the city. The best spot I found was from the roof of the Art House Café.

Photography Tips

Evening is best when the sun shines sideways on the mosque. However, from the 4 evenings I spend in Yazd, 3 were very hazy and there was no sun, so I guess you have to be a bit lucky with the weather conditions.
