Italy Colourful houses from Burano
Burano is the largest island in the Venice lagoon. With over 2,700 inhabitants, it is also one of the most densely populated islands. Wonderful candy colours adorn the houses. There is a reason for the different colours of the houses: the fishermen had problems finding their landing place when they returned home. To make it easier for themselves to arrive and "park", they painted their houses in different colours.
