Italy Sorano

Sorano is a town and comune in the province of Grosseto, southern Tuscany (Italy). It as an ancient medieval hill town hanging from a tuff stone over the Lente River.

Nice light can be caught at sunrise/sunsets. It is very harsh during midday, I had a hard time rescuing my RAW files due to mass overexposure. If you are going at midday - be sure to bring some gradient filters, it will make your life much easier.

The following photography spot can be accesses from panorama terrace. Leave your car near the road (see location on my map), it is wayside rather than parking and only few spots available. Afterwards, there is a 5 min walk and a bit of ascending will bring you to a picnic spot with some wooden tables and benches, with a similar panorama. If you want even a better view as I did, you have to proceed further, down the trees (there are some sings, hard to get lost), passing through some etruscan caves will eventually lead into a small terrace with the best view. Please, note, that it is a slippery hiking path and a bit hard to get there, not suitable for small children and most oldies.
