Kyrgyz Republic Kyzyl-Asker glaciers, Rajon At-Baschy
Kyzyl-Asker is the third highest mountain in the Kakshaaltoo mountain range at 5842 meters. The massive glacier foothills flow into a double glacial lake. An unreal dream for every hiker, mountain lover and nature enthusiast. The ice break-off edge is around 40 meters. You regularly hear the cracking ice. One of the most impressive places in whole Kyrgyzstan, reminiscent of the great glaciers of Patagonia.
Photography Tips
The drone gives you a significant change of perspective as you position yourself on the debris ramp and give it a sense of how massive the place actually is.
Travel Information
Unfortunately, the most beautiful place in Kyrgyzstan is also the most difficult to reach. Only the most experienced drivers in the Naryn region dare to go here and never drive alone. Due to the proximity to the Chinese border, you pass through two military posts and need a special permit from the government, which you can obtain from tourism associations such as TerraMontis etc! The small path, which is initially still on gravel and sandy roads and really not well developed, leads over some huge old drinking water pipes that are in danger of collapsing. Then the driver has to find a suitable spot over the constantly changing large river, which, depending on the rainfall, is comparable to the strongest rivers in Iceland. There is less than a 50/50 chance. Cars will not be able to continue after crossing the river, as the risk of getting stuck is too high. From this point on you hike through partly moorland for about 12 kilometers one way off-road without any paths until you arrive at this breathtaking place. If you really want to go, write me and I can connect you with the organization / driver.
