About the location
Tübingen is closely associated with the German poet Friedrich Hölderlin, who spent the last 36 years of his life in the city. The Hölderlin Tower (Hölderlinturm) is a historic building overlooking the Neckar River, where Hölderlin lived from 1807 until his death in 1843. It is now a museum dedicated to his life and work.
The Hohentübingen Castle is a prominent landmark overlooking the old town. Originally built in the 11th century, the castle now houses the Tübingen University Museum, showcasing exhibits on archaeology, anthropology, and natural history.
