Besides well known cities at the coastline like Cannes, Nice or Saint-Tropez, the state of Monaco is also included into the French Riviera. The region offers besides many beautiful cities a lot of amazing places to enjoy the ocean view.
The bigger cities of Côte d'Azur are well connected by plane or train, but in general I would recommend you to visit the region by car and maybe even start at Marseille in the west and extend your journey until Genua and Cinque Terre (the 5 beautiful villages around Manarola) in Italy.
