The Pragser Wildsee (Italian: Lago di Braies, English: Lake Prags or Lake Braies) is a mountain lake in the Prags Valley in the South Tyrolean municipality of Prags. It is part of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park and a protected natural monument.
The lake has become extremely popular to photographers and travelers from around the world due to the crystal clear water and the iconic view from the boat hut towards the mountains. Especially Instagram made this place quite touristic, so getting a good photo here requires standing up early in the morning which can have the additional benefit of morning fog in front of the mountain range, adding some additional mood to your photos.
It is located a few kilometers south of Alta Pusteria between Brunico and Dobbiaco in the Prags Dolomites, Italy. After passing the villages of Schmieden and St. Veit, you arrive at the car park (to pay in the tourist season).
