Mongolia Khongor Sand Dune Structures

The Khongor Sand Dunes are one of a kind in Mongolia. It is part of the Gobi Desert which is one of the largest desert regions on earth. These dunes tower up to 300 meters and are specifically shaped due to high winds.

Photography Tips

Try top downs with the drone. But don't go too far and all the way. Like 45-70 degrees is enough to have winding sand dune lines. But skip the horizon and focus on the structure for these kind of shots.

Travel Information

You can drive there from several points. Easiest and fastest is from Bayandalai. Make sure to have a proper 4x4 car (recommended) and be experienced with driving in sandy conditions. Otherwise, you can book yourself a tour or a car with a driver. Entrance is around 2,50 EUR. Card is accepted.
