Montenegro Rosni Peak, Valbona Valley National Park
The Rosni Peak, also known as Maja Rosit is a mountain which lies directly on the border of Albania and Montenegro. It's considered the second highest peak of Montenegro and as one of the highest of the Albanian mountains. The sunrise views are simply amazing up there. It offers the best photos of the Prokletije massif.
Photography Tips
Sunrise is the best time to get there. Make sure to bring at least a standard zoom with you. Capture the details of the rising sun and the layers of light hitting the mountains with it.
Travel Information
Parking in the valley was free of charge (fall 2022). The hikes can be quite challenging. There are no huts on the way up, only a small local farmers house which offers tea. So make sure, to bring enough food and drinks. To get all the way to the summit, you will need to hike up around 1.600m in height on a way of around 26km in total.
