Bagan has an old area and a new one. The new one is full of restaurants (some with outstanding views and food), small bars and shops. It comes alive at night.

Photography Tips

Lug a tripod if you really want to maximize the opportunities; the road is not so busy that you can't safely set up in the street.

This is a dusty area. If you didn't bring sensor cleaning kit with you (and you really should) there is a good photographic supplies shop on Old Bagan.

Travel Information

Walk it or cab it from your hotel.

We came to Bagan down the river from Mandalay. Its a nice, relaxing day trip, leaving early morning and arriving late afternoon.
