Namibia into the Dorob National Park

Sandwich Harbour, south of Walvis Bay, is considered one of the grandiose destinations on the Namibian coast.
In the deep sand on the Atlantic coast, past the Walvis Bay saltworks, many blurred lanes of vehicles can be seen. Air from the tires of the vehicle has to be released to be able to get through this passage. With less pressure, they are slightly wider and run better in loose sand.
The sandy beach alternates with sections of sandstone chunks. Individual seals enjoy the sun on the beach.
Between the sea and the towering dunes, the beach is getting narrower. Much dark red suggests a high content of iron in the sand. The surf that overflows the road to the dunes has to be observed to find the right time to quickly pass through this bottleneck, without being washed into the sea..

In principle, you could go there yourself with a four-wheel drive vehicle. For this a permission has to be obtained. But it is strongly advised not to drive into the impassable area. A guided day tour is a alternative.
