Netherlands Cows grazing at Park Clingendael, The Hague
The Clingendael manor house, inhabited by the noble families who owned the estate until 1968, was built in the style of the 17th century. Despite the fact that no nobility lives anymore, it has retained the image. Also because of the dominant place in the park in combination with the driveway and the location near the pond.
Since 1983 the Clingendael Institute has been housed there. A knowledge and study center for international relations. An estate may only call itself an estate if there are still farms on it that are in operation. That is the case at Clingendael. When you reach the driveway at the main entrance, you will see the farm on your left. Also with a private driveway. The farm is still fully operational. There are about 60 happy cows and, depending on the season, an average of 80 sheep.
