Netherlands Kasteel Duivenvoorde, Voorschoten
Duivenvoorde is one of the oldest estates in Zuid-Holland province of The Netherlands and represents a unique ensemble of castle, park and estate. Duivenvoorde is a green oasis in the hectic day-to-day of its surroundings. The centuries old estate and 19th century landscape garden is located between Voorschoten and Leidschendam-Voorburg. The 260 hectare estate also includes three working farms. The estate is open to the public.
Photography Tips
Fall is beautiful as the trees adorn the castle with beautiful colors, however, the sky is likely to be gray so do bring your filters/stoppers along.
Summer is beautiful is well and clear blue sky with clouds can give the castle a deeper dimension.
Because of the shape of the lake, you need to be at a certain spot to be right infront of the castle and so for a total reflection on the water and the castle with its towers, a 14-24mm would be ideal but anything wider than 24-70 is a plus. I shot with the 24-70mm and was too much boxed in.
